Fall Flowers and Shrubs

The other day, I got a sudden urge to put together an autumn flower arrangement. I saw these beautiful yellow flowers growing wild and decided I really wanted to do something with them! Their yellow color was so vivid!

For some reason, though, whenever I try to make an arrangement from things growing in our yard (and the surrounding area), it ends up being primarily composed of shrubbery. I suppose that has a lot to do with where we live.
:)

I gathered far too much to make just one arrangement, so I ended up making 3 smaller ones as well! But before I begin, I thought I'd share a shot of the aftermath with you. I still had a lot of odd pieces left over!

DISCLAIMER:
Unfortunately, I have not yet mastered
"The Art of Photographing Flower and Shrub Arrangements 101",
so, I must inform you that the arrangements looked a LOT better in person.
In the pictures, they look slightly lopsided and unimpressive
(not that they looked amazingly impressive to begin with... but you know what I mean!)
:)

"'Every valley shall be exalted
And every mountain and hill brought low;
The crooked places shall be made straight And the rough places smooth;

The glory of the LORD shall be revealed,
And all flesh shall see it together;
For the mouth of the LORD has spoken.'

The voice said, 'Cry out!'

And he said, 'What shall I cry?'

'All flesh is grass,
And all its loveliness is like the flower of the field.

The grass withers, the flower fades,
Because the breath of the LORD blows upon it;
Surely the people are grass.

The grass withers, the flower fades,
But the word of our God stands forever.'”

-- Isaiah 40:4-8 --

Hi Lauren!
It was so so nice to hear from you!
I dont know anyone who is also a stay at home daughter(I actually dont know many christians either), so it is great to actually meet another one of us! It is so nice to see other young women rejecting the common world views and staying in the home. Also, that was so nice of you to take the time to reccomend etsy to me. It means so much to me to see women helping women! I guess you are from Boston? I am from Oklahoma.

Wow Lauren, these are incredible! As Jean Marie said, you have been blessed with a wonderful ability to arrange things in ways that are so aesthetically pleasing!

Even though I know its still beautiful down there, I was surprised at first to see the flowers in your arrangement! We are well past flower season up here (even the hardy mums are mostly gone) and have had nearly a foot of snow over the past month! It's still beautiful here, but its fun to see a reminder of warmer clime's =)
